Islamabad: A shocking report presented in the Senate revealed that 1,426 WhatsApp accounts have been hacked across Pakistan. The Ministry of Interior submitted this response following a query raised during a Senate session.
Details of Complaints Filed
Since July 1, the FIA Cyber Crime Wing has received these complaints. However, this figure only reflects cases officially registered, excluding many that were reported but not formally recorded.
- 817 complaints are still under verification.
- 549 accounts have already been recovered.
- 877 cases are under investigation.
- 20 cases have been escalated to full inquiries.
